Hello! My name is Jess Adams, and I’m a 2L at the University of Missouri School of Law. I have been at the University of Missouri since I graduated from Ava High School in rural southern Missouri. As an undergraduate, my primary areas of study were chemistry, political science, and music. I didn’t decide to attend law school until my junior year of undergraduate studies, and by that time I was so at home with Mizzou and Columbia I just decided to stay.
The University of Missouri offers many diverse experiences, which is one of my favorite features. During my undergraduate studies I had the opportunity to participate in Kappa Delta Sorority, Sigma Alpha Iota Music Fraternity, Marching Mizzou, and Symphonic Band, and Saxophone Studio.
My favorite feature of the law school here at Mizzou is the way that students help each other. It’s true that law school is competitive, but everyone here tries to help out fellow classmates. The camaraderie extends beyond interaction with peers; the professors here know every individual in the class by name within a few weeks and genuinely want to see every single person succeed.
