Thanks for reading my profile! My name is Valerie Dixon and I am currently a 3L. I’m from the small town of Thayer, MO, which is located about a mile north of the Arkansas line, but I’ve been a Columbia girl for the past 5 years. Columbia is a culturally rich city with the perfect blend of small town values and big city excitement that I have come to know and love and I hope you will too. 

I received both my undergraduate degree in Marketing and my Master of Business Administration degree from Mizzou before beginning my law school career. When I decided to pursue my law degree I had several schools on my list, but as I evaluated each one I found myself putting Mizzou at the top every time.

Mizzou offers so many different ways to get involved, both within the law school and also across campus, that there really is something for everyone. As an undergraduate and also graduate student I worked in the aquatics department of our nationally recognized recreation complex, was a member of Kappa Delta Sorority & Student Athletic Board, and I was also a teaching assistant in the business school.

I have to admit I was nervous to begin law school, but the amazing students and faculty here have chased my worries away. Everyone is so supportive and always willing to lend a hand which has been a huge help as I navigate law school. I know I made the right choice in choosing Mizzou for law school and I would love to help you make the right choice for you. Please contact me with any questions you have.
