The MU School of Law offers a collegial environment, reinforced by a small student body and a low faculty-student ratio. The intimacy of this setting, coupled with reasonable cost, consistently high bar passage rates, a network of alumni around the globe and access to top scholars in the legal world, make MU Law one of the best values in the nation.
I am so glad you are thinking about attending law school at Mizzou! My name is Liz LaFoe and I started here in 2012 and have been very happy I decided to go to law school and even more so that I chose to attend the University of Missouri.
I went to undergrad at the University of Florida in Gainesville and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing in 2009. Florida was a great place to go to college – Go Gators! But my family lives in Missouri and, although I appreciated the out of state experience, I was very ready to come back to the Midwest after I graduated.
I started working at the University of Missouri hospital in 2009 in the Burn Intensive Care Unit and transferred to the Emergency Room in 2010, where I still work part time as a nurse (I work anywhere from 4 to 20 hours a week during school). I love working for the University of Missouri and I love being a student here just as much. To me, it is much more than a school, it is a community of people who inspire and support each other. I believe that environment makes it possible to strive for greatness while also developing wonderful relationships with mentors and friends and that is why I think a law degree from this school is so valuable. GO TIGERS!
If you have any questions about applying to law school, working during school, living in Missouri, moving from out of state, study tips, summer jobs, or anything else, please let me know and I’ll do my best to answer them. Good luck! - Liz
