Making that big choice to attend law school is not easy. Personally, I didn’t even start thinking about law school until my senior year as an undergraduate student and then after graduation, it took me an additional four years to finally decide to give it a shot. I remember being apprehensive though. I questioned whether I had the right major, or even right personality to think like a lawyer, let alone be successful at it.
As I’m now entering the third year of the program, I can confidently say that I made the right choice. There’s no denying that the experience has proved to be excruciatingly hard at times, but, more importantly, it has also been fun, exciting, challenging – any number of feel-good adjectives come to mind. In retrospect, I can honestly say that my choice to attend Mizzou law school has proved to be one of the best decisions that I’ve ever made.
Mizzou is a wonderful school. With an extremely friendly admissions staff, an approachable and inspiring faculty, and a collaborative student body, Mizzou provided me with the support and encouragement that I needed during that tenuous 1L year. Since then I’m happy to say that I’ve settled in nicely. There are students here from all majors and all walks of life and a diverse array of clubs, organizations, and activities to suit any interest. I’m personally very active as a member of the Association of Intellectual Property and Entertainment Lawyers, as well as the Missouri Environmental Law & Policy Review. Finally, and best of all, I’ve made some fantastic friends here and I can’t think of a better note to end on than that.
