The MU School of Law offers a collegial environment, reinforced by a small student body and a low faculty-student ratio. The intimacy of this setting, coupled with reasonable cost, consistently high bar passage rates, a network of alumni around the globe and access to top scholars in the legal world, make MU Law one of the best values in the nation.
My name is Eric Vander Weerd, and I am a 1L from Wildwood, MO. I attended Truman
State University for my undergraduate career, where I was active in Sigma Tau Gamma,
my social fraternity, as well as in the justice systems interest group and honor societies. My other interests include reading, frisbee golf, and bad jokes.
I chose Mizzou because I am not positive in what area of law I want to practice. Mizzou has an excellent reputation overall and will prepare me to practice in a wide array of fields. Furthermore, Mizzou is competitively priced, so I wonʼt feel obligated to choose any particular career path just based on salary.
The transition from a smaller school to a much larger one seemed intimidating at first,
but I already feel at home here. Class sizes are small relative to other comparable
universities, and the positive atmosphere among students and faculty alike supports a
great learning environment.
If you are considering law school, I highly recommend you come see Mizzou. Feel free
to shoot me an email with any questions you may have.
