Applicant Status Glossary

Application Received

We have received your application and will send an e-mail with your username and password for the online status checker. Please allow up to 7 business days for us to process your application. We will update your status once it has been processed. 

Application Incomplete

Your application is incomplete. Please refer to the requirements checklist on your online status page to determine which item(s) are missing.

Application Complete

Your application is complete and ready for review by our admissions committee.

In Review

Your application has been sent to the admissions committee. Once it has gone to the committee, it could take 6-8 weeks for a decision to be made.

Decision in Mail

The admissions committee has made a decision on your application. If you do not receive your letter in the mail in the next week, please let us know. We cannot give out this information over the phone.

Waitlist

The admissions committee has asked the applicant to join the waitlist.

Waitlist Confirmed

The applicant confirmed their spot on the waitlist.

Deferred

The applicant has chosen to defer their admission to another year.

Deny Incomplete

The applicant has not submitted all application materials. The admissions office has tried to contact the applicant but received no response. Since the admission committee cannot review incomplete applications, your application has been denied.

Deposit 1 Paid

The admissions office has received the first $250 seat deposit. This is nonrefundable and will go towards your fall tuition.

Deposit 2 Paid

The admissions office has received the full seat deposit. This is nonrefundable and will go towards your fall tuition.

Withdrawn Declined Admission

The applicant requested to remove their application from MU Law.

Withdrawn-Did Not Respond to Waitlist

The applicant did not respond to e-mails from the admissions office, asking to confirm their spot on the waitlist.

Withdrawn Before Decision

The applicant requested to remove their application prior to receiving a decision from the admissions committee.

Withdrawn-No Deposit Paid

The applicant did not pay their seat deposit to secure their seat in the entering class and has been withdrawn.

Withdrawn Declined Waitlist

The applicant requested to be removed from the waitlist.
