DEAN BAILEY ATTENDS NATIONAL ACADEMY OF ARBITRATORS CONFERENCE
Assistant Dean Bob Bailey, director of the Center for the Study of Dispute Resolution, attended the Fall Education Conference of the National Academy of Arbitrators in Charleston in October. Bailey continues to serve as the Academy’s parliamentarian and as vice president of the Research Education Foundation. Bailey also serves on the annual meeting program committee and will moderate the invited papers session in Vancouver next June.
PROF. CONKLIN TO PRESENT AT WORKS-IN-PROGRESS CONFERENCE
Prof. Carli Conklin will be presenting her research on early American arguments in favor of dispute resolution on November 9-10 at the Association of American Law Schools Section of Dispute Resolution’s Works-in-Progress Conference at Ohio State University.

CSDR TO SPONSOR MEDIATION TRAINING JANUARY 14-16
The Center for the Study of Dispute Resolution will host a three-day civil mediation training at the MU School of Law, January 14-16, 2013. Prof. Jim Levin, associate director of the Center for the Study of Dispute Resolution and Prof. Paul Ladehoff, director of the LL.M. in Dispute Resolution Program and director of the Campus Mediation Program, will serve as lead trainers in a program that will provide a foundation in conflict, negotiation and mediation theory and the mediation process. Experienced mediators will provide coaching and individual feedback throughout the training. This program qualifies for 21.7 MCLE including 1.2 hours of ethics training.
