JON KABAT-ZINN SPEAKING AT MU SCHOOL OF LAW
JAN. 27, HULSTON HALL Renowned mediation teacher, scientist and best-selling author, Jon Kabat-Zinn will be speaking at the MU Law School on Thurs., Jan. 27 from 1:30 to 2:50 pm in Room 7, Hulston Hall. Kabat-Zinn’s topic will be, "Mindfulness and the Legal Profession: Lessons from Medicine While Breaking New Ground." JOHN LANDE PUBLISHES ARTICLE ON COURT-CONNECTED MEDIATION
Prof. John Lande published "Commentary: Focusing on Program Design Issues in Future Research on Court-Connected Mediation," at 22 Conflict Resolution Quarterly 89 (2004). This article is part of a symposium issue of the journal, "Conflict Resolution in the Field: Assessing the Past, Charting the Future." Lande’s article argues future research should focus on program design choices rather than trying to establish the general efficacy of mediation programs.

ABA SECTION OF DISPUTE RESOLUTION CONFERENCE
APRIL 14-16, LOS ANGELES The American Bar Association Section of Dispute Resolution is holding its annual conference in Los Angeles, April 14-16. MU’s Center for the Study of Dispute Resolution is a cooperating organization for the conference. Speakers will include Professors Philip J. Harter, John Lande, Richard Reuben, and Leonard L. Riskin. John Lande is a co-chair of the program committee for the conference. Full-time students can attend at a substantial discount. Registration fees increase after Feb. 28.

ASSOCIATION OF FAMILY AND CONCILIATION COURTS ANNUAL CONFERENCE
MAY 18-21, SEATTLE The 42nd Annual Conference of the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts (AFCC), "Solving the Family Court Puzzle: Integrating Research, Policy and Practice," will be May 18-21 in Seattle.

RESTORATIVE JUSTICE CONFERENCE
MAY 20-21, FRESNO, CA The 11th Restorative Justice Conference will be May 20-21 at Fresno Pacific University in California. Pre-conference training will be on May 19.

WORLD MEDIATION FORUM V CONFERENCE
SEPT. 9-11, SWITZERLAND The World Mediation Forum V Conference will be Sept. 9-11 in Crans-Montana, Switzerland. This is the fifth conference of World Mediation Forum and will be hosted jointly with the Institut Universitaire Kurt Bösch. The English language program is available in PDF format.
