LL.M. PROGRAM WELCOMES NEW CLASS OF STUDENTS
This year the LL.M. Program will have 18 students including 8 full-time students, 4 new part-time students, and 6 continuing part-time students.  This is another very experienced, talented, exciting, and diverse group of people.  We have students from around the world including new students from the Bahamas, India, Kenya, and the Philippines.  We will post the student biographies on the newly redesigned web site when possible.  Welcome all!

PROF. PHILIP HARTER APPOINTED ABA COMMITTEE CHAIR AND RECEIVES HONOR FOR LECTURE
Prof. Philip Harter has been appointed as the chair of the Environment, Natural Resources, and Public Policy Committee of the ABA Section of Dispute Resolution. His lecture on negotiated rulemaking delivered in November 2004 at the University of Paris was named one of "the most important lectures given in Paris this year" and will be published in a collection of the best lectures in Paris in 2005 under the title "Economic Regulation and Democracy."

LARRY MCLELLAN ACCEPTED INTO FORUM OF ARBITRATORS
LL.M. student Larry McLellan was recently accepted for the National Arbitration Forum Panel of Arbitrators and Mediators. The NAF administers arbitration and mediations in a variety of commercial disputes including business, health, employment, real estate, I/P property, and consumer transactions. Congratulations Larry!

ASSOCIATION OF MISSOURI MEDIATORS ANNUAL CONFERENCE
OCT. 8, COLUMBIA , MO
The Association of Missouri Mediators annual conference, “Issues for Mediation in 21st Century,” will be Oct. 8 in Columbia , MO. The program will include Prof. John Lande , who will speak on “The Promise and Perils of Collaborative Law.”  The program also features a panel of judges speaking on “The Place of Mediation in the Court System,” including Missouri Supreme Court Judge Mary Rhodes Russell (JD '83), and judges David Dolan and David Russell.  Early registration deadline: Sept. 18 .  MU Students can attend for $25 or, after Sept. 18, $35.  For more information on AMM see http://www.mediate.com/amm .  For registration information, e-mail colemanl@missouri.edu .
