RICHARD REUBEN TEACHING IN AUSTRIA THIS SUMMER
Prof. Richard Reuben is teaching an arbitration seminar in Austria this month for the Summer Institute in International Commercial Arbitration, which is a cooperative venture of Georgia State University and Johannes Keppler Law Schools.

CYNTHIA ALKON PUBLISHES ARTICLE ABOUT WOMEN LABOR ARBITRATORS
Cynthia Alkon (LLM ’02) recently published “Women Labor Arbitrators: Women Members of the National Academy of Arbitrators Speak About the Barriers of Entry into the Field,” at 6 Appalachian Journal of Law 195 (2007). This article explores the barriers that women face in entering the labor arbitration field.

FLAVIA FRAGALE PEPINO GAVE SPEECH ON MEDIATION AND NEGOTIATION
On May 28, Flavia Fragale Pepino (LLM ’05) gave a speech to labor lawyers at a program sponsored by the Federal Labor Court of Brasilia, Brazil. This was part of a program of the Brazilian judiciary to train judges and lawyers in mediation and negotiation techniques. The program is called “Conciliar é Legal,” which means “conciliation is good.”

Jose Ramirez (LLM ’05) and his wife Veronica recently welcomed a baby daughter to their family. Valentina was born March 26 in Caracas. Congratulations!
