Computer-Assisted Legal Instruction (CALI)

Computer Assisted Legal Instruction (CALI) Exercises augment traditional law school instruction. The CALI Exercise Library contains over 100 lessons in 27 different subject areas, covering all first-year subjects as well as many subjects introduced in advanced law school courses. All CALI Exercises are interactive and written by law faculty from law schools across the nation.

Using CALI Exercises in the Computer Lab

  • Double-click the Law Research Applications folder on the desktop.
  • Double-click on the CALI icon.
  • Click on the CALI Lessons link.
  • Click on the subject area you are interested in using.

Downloading CALI Exercises at Home

  • Open your Internet browser.
  • Go to the CALI Homepage, http://www.cali.org.
  • Click on the Students box.
  • Click on the CALI Lessons link.
  • Click on the subject area you're interested in.
  • Click on either the Windows box or the Macintosh box, depending on your computer.
  • Select MO - University of Missouri-Columbia School of Law from the drop-down list.
  • Enter the password (you may obtain this password from the Computer Support Specialist, a Lab Assistant, or a Reference Librarian).
  • Read and accept the license agreement.
  • Click on the folder icon next to each file in the table to download the appropriate lesson files.
  • In the Save As Dialog Box, choose the folder where you want to save your CALI lessons.
  • Click OK.
  • Go to the folder where you saved your lessons, and double-click on the saved files.
