Computer Lab

The computer lab has thirty-five desktop computers available for law student use. All lab computers have at least a 3.2 Gigahertz Pentium IV processor and 1 Gigabyte of RAM. Twelve of these computers are located inside a designated quiet area of the lab. The remaining twenty-three computers are available in the main lab, side room, and library. All of the computer lab computers are available for law student use 24 hours a day.

The computers are password protected, and are available for use by MU law students only. Students are not allowed to save their files to the lab computers or to the file server. The lab computers also do not have internal floppy drives. Students may save to USB Flash Drives, the university’s Bengal storage, or CD-R media.

Printing

There are two high-speed laser printers inside the computer lab. Both printers print only in black and white on 8˝x11 paper at $0.05 per page. Students that are financially enrolled at MU receive a $35 (per academic year) nonrefundable print quota allotted for printing. Students enrolled for the summer period receive an additional $7 nonrefundable print quota. If a student continues to print over their print quota, their student account will be charged automatically.

Students may print for free from Westlaw or Lexis via the standalone Westlaw and Lexis printers while researching within those systems.
