Computing Lab

Hardware Services

The Computer Lab has 34 desktop computers available for law student use. All lab computers have at least a 200 MHz Pentium processor and 64 MB of RAM. Eleven of these computers are located inside a designated quiet area of the lab and are available during the hours the Computer Lab is open, and the remaining 23 computers are available for student use 24 hours a day.

The computers are password protected, and are available for use by MU law students only. Students are not allowed to save their files to the lab computers or to the file server. Each computer has an internal floppy drive and an internal zip drive; both floppy and zip disks may be purchased in the Computer Lab.

Printing

There is one high-speed laser printer inside the Computer Lab, as well as separate Westlaw and Lexis printers. Each student receives 500 print credits free at the beginning of the fall and winter semesters as well as 100 print credits at the beginning of summer semester. Students may receive further print credits at a charge of $.07 per page. For more about printing, go to the Computer Lab Printing Information Page.

All lab computers run the Windows NT Workstation operating system. Applications installed on the computers include:
