Creating Envelopes

Word and WordPerfect make it easy to create professional-looking envelopes when you need to send a résumé or important document. The directions are simple, but it is important to know which way to feed your blank envelope into the printer.

Using Microsoft Word

  1. Open Word by double-clicking on its icon in the Office 97 Applications folder on the Desktop.
  2. Select Tools from the menus at the top of the screen, then choose Envelopes and Labels…
  3. Click the Options… button. At this window you can change the envelope size, font, or position of address.
  4. After you have selected your options, click OK. From here you can do the following things:
    • Type the delivery and return addresses in the given spaces.
    • Preview the envelope with your information.
    • See which direction the blank envelope needs to be fed into the printer.
    • Print directly from the screen using the Print button.

Using WordPerfect

  1. Open WordPerfect by double-clicking on the icon on the Desktop.
  2. Select Format from the menus at the top of the screen, then choose Envelope….
  3. Choosing the Options… button allows you to change the position of the addresses. After you have set your positions, click OK.
  4. From here you can do the following things:
    • Type the return and mailing addresses in the provided spaces.
    • Change the font.
    • Preview the envelope with your information.
    • Choose the envelope size.
    • Print directly from the screen by clicking the Print Envelope button.
