Ask a Student AmbassadorCelina Lopez, 2L
Hi! My name is Celina and I am a 2L here at the University of Missouri. I am originally from Texas, so Missouri is quite a change! I grew in up Corpus Christi and Friendswood, TX, and lived in Lubbock for five years. I am happy to live in a different state for a little while and broaden my horizons – and Columbia is the perfect place! I received my Bachelor’s degree in music performance from Texas Tech University in 2005. I also graduated with a master’s in higher education in August right before I started here. I guess you can say I am not a student with a “typical” degree! The great thing about Mizzou is that there are so many people with diverse degrees and backgrounds, so I never feel left out! I have to say, choosing a law school is one of the hardest decisions I have had to make. However, actually coming to visit the law school here in Missouri is what sold me. This law school has a great sense of community – it just feels like home. The professors and staff are incredible and really make an effort to know your name. There are tons of law student organizations to get involved in that allow you to further your interests and get involved in the community. Mizzou also offers some incredible study abroad opportunities. One of the reasons I came here was for the South Africa summer program that they offer. I plan on practicing International Law and Human Rights, so this is a great opportunity! If you have any questions or concerns about applying, visiting, or just the law school in general, I would love to hear from you! Feel free to e-mail me at . I wish you the best! |
