Hi, my name is Tarun Rana. I am currently a 2L at Mizzou Law. I was born in France, but moved to the U.S. when I was six years old. I have lived in the Saint Louis area throughout the majority of my life and currently reside in Saint Peters, Missouri. I grew up in the Parkway School District and went to Parkway South High my freshmen year, but then moved to Saint Peters and finished out high school at Francis Howell Central. After high school I went straight to college at Saint Louis University where I majored in History and minored in English and Psychology.

I chose to attend Mizzou Law because I visited the campus and instantly loved it. The excellent reputation and low cost also factored in heavily in my decision to attend. Another major factor for attending was that Mizzou has a national football team. SLU did not have a football team so I never got to experience the thrill of game day. I finally got to experience it here in Columbia and was blown away by how incredibly HUGE football is here. It is quite an extraordinary experience to attend the games and I highly recommend it. I also love the “college town” atmosphere of Columbia. The areas around the campus are incredibly accommodating and geared to the students’ needs. It is extremely convenient to have many amenities, such as restaurants, barbers, and dry cleaning, all within walking distance of the campus.

In addition to being a Student Ambassador for the UMC law school, I am also a member of the Phi Alpha Delta Legal Fraternity, the American Bar Association, and participate in the different competition put on by the Board of Advocates. Although I do spend a majority of my time at school attending classes and doing homework, I find that I still have plenty of time to do the things I love, such as watching movies, hanging out with my friends, and playing sports.
